Italian Villa

See how we adapted an Italian inspired villa (complete with its own vines)

Overview

This was a 1970’s style bungalow in a sizeable plot overlooking the west Wales coastline. The property needed to provide safe and convenient access for a client who uses a walking frame indoors and a wheelchair outside. Additionally full time carer accommodation was also required.

Unusually, the entrance to the property even included vines. The client was keen to maintain this feature, reminiscent of an Italian Villa, so they were incorporated into the conservatory/entrance hall design.

The design

The internal layout was reconfigured to provide wheelchair accessibility. The kitchen was partially adapted to ensure the client could still use these facilities. A relaxing and comfortable bedroom was provided with adjoining access to a level access wetroom. A specialist bath was commissioned to facilitate easy and safe transfer in the family bathroom.

The outside space provided safe and convenient access to the property from the front and side. A secure car parking area allows for easy transfer to/from the property when the client needs to use a vehicle. Automated gates were added for better security and to secure the boundaries.
